Court Jails 39 Internet Fraudsters in Abakaliki A Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, presided over by Justices H. I. O. Oshomah and M. T. Segun-Bello has convicted and sentenced thirty-nine (39) internet fraudsters to different jail terms. The convicts were jailed after pleading guilty to a one-count separate charges bordering on obtaining by false presence, personation and possession of fraudulent documents upon arraignment by the Enugu Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. RIVERS ELECTIONS: NPF ACTIONS IN CONFORMITY WITH SUBSISTING COURT ORDER, REMAINS POLITICALLY NEUTRAL The Nigeria Police Force has noted with concern the recent statements made by the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Siminalayi Fubara, in which several unfounded allegations were leveled against the Office of the Inspector-General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force. In light of these claims, it has become necessary to set the record straight. Firstly, it is important to clarify that there is a subsisting Federal High Court order barring the Nigeria Police Force from participating in the Rivers State elections. This order was duly served on both the NPF and the Rivers State Government. N110.4bn Fraud: Court orders Yahaya Bello to appear for Arraignment Justice Maryanne Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT in Maitama, Abuja on October 3, 2024, has issued a public summon against former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adoza Bello following his absence in a fresh arraignment on 16-count charges preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Bello, Shuabu Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu are facing prosecution bordering on criminal breach of trust, and conspiracy to commit an offence to the tune of N110.4 Billion. EFCC Arraigns Five for N25m Fraud in Maiduguri The Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, September 19,  2024, arraigned Hamza Dauda Umar, Abdulrahman Goni, and Abdulmutalib Abdullahi before Justice Muhammad Maina of the Borno State High Court, sitting in Maiduguri, for fraud. The trio were docked on a twelve-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence, criminal breach of trust, conspiracy, using forged documents as genuine, false information and forgery to the tune of N3,300,000.00 (Three Million, Three Hundred Thousand Naira only).
